Our professionals have been involved in hundreds of forensic assignments. Our forensic practice is historically  been roughly half for plaintiffs and half for defendants.  Firm professionals have testified and been involved in numerous depositions, arbitrations and trials. We  frequently participants in meditations.

We bring the depth of our experience and understanding of the process to our clients. Generally, we these are principle areas of inquiry in a forensic assignment:

  • What's the appropriate way to fix it?
  • What will it cost to fix?

The firm is geared toward assisting our clients in litigation. From surveying the building and collecting data, researching the requirements under which it was designed and constructed, writing reports for our clients, providing assistance to attorneys, to testifying in court proceedings, we have proven experience to assist in a fair resolution of matters in dispute.

Forensic Services Overview

  • Architecture: Determining compliance with standard of professional care; analysis of general architectural matters
  • Building Envelope Analysis: Weather protection of the building envelope; thermal and moisture analysis of assemblies for condensation potential; wind loading of components and cladding; compliance with codes and industry standards, water and air resistance
  • Analysis of Building Materials and Assemblies: Analysis of windows and doors; analysis of cladding such as Exterior Insulation & Finish Systems (EIFS), stucco, wood siding, masonry
  • Life and Fire Safety: Determining egress requirements and suitability of building type and fire protection elements of construction
  • Code Compliance: Determining applicable code in effect; detailed analysis of design and construction to codes.
  • Contract Compliance: Determining compliance with Owner/Architect or Owner/Contractor contract, General and Supplementary Conditions, General Requirements, and technical Specifications
  • Appropriateness of Design for climate and serviceability considerations
  • Personal Injury from architectural elements (slips, trips & falls and similar accidents)
